Laurel D'Andrea
I once heard someone say that how you spend your time is about the ‘dash’. Life is not about the day you were born or about the day you leave this earth; it is about the time in between.
I spend my time first and foremost being a mom to the greatest loves of my life, my boys Devon and Dallas. The other part of my life is spent bringing people together. I have always been the organizer, the idea person, the one to rally the team.
I love to watch people interacting, sharing ideas and communicating. We sometimes forget how much we learn from the people who surround us each and every day. Beyond 50 Magazine is the opportunity, the venue, and the platform for people to read, learn, share and communicate. It is everyday people talking about everyday life: their triumphs, their challenges and what motivates them to do what they do.
You, the people of the Central Okanagan, write this magazine. Our community is home to many notable and fascinating people. We offer the chance for people to share their insight & wisdom, and in turn, it will inspire others to do the same. Sharing and communicating is one of the greatest gifts we can give to others and you know what they say – “advice is free.”
Life is about learning, absorbing what we need when we need it, and being happy with who we are. We all have moments worth sharing and we do that with our families and friends. All I would like you to do is to think of Beyond 50 Magazine as a part of that circle; share with us so we can share with others who may be just like you.
I look forward to the new friendships arising from this magazine. The more people I meet the more I will learn. The more I learn the more you as a reader will learn. The concept of this magazine is simple – it is about sharing how you spend your dash.
